    Sound out of sync

      Sound out of sync

      I've just upgraded to HD+ with the 2tb Sky box. Over the course of an hour or so the sound goes out of synch, with the sound significantly later than the picture. The box has been changed - both hdmi inputs tried - the sound brought out separately into the Samsung tv, with no success.

      However, synchronization can be restored by simply turning the tv OR the box to standby and then back again. It then gradually loses sync again.

      Has anyone else had the same problem?

      Could you please let us know which firmware you are using please?

      Also is your sound going through the TV or through a sound system? If so, how is it connected (i.e. from TV or direct from 2TB Sky+ HD)?

      Same problem for me on my 1tb sky hd box.
      Firmware 4f3151/ R005.053.70.15P
      Problem through the tv speakers, rather than the sound system.
      Checked all sync settings on tv and sky box, but still goes out after a while.
      I'm a bit worried now because my tv is a Samsung also. Model number UE40EH6030.
      I'm thinking it's a tv problem because my LG tv didn't suffer from this.

      Oh dear indeed, you both have the same TV model. Could I ask you to post the information on the first line of the 'System Details' page please?

      Ideally it should be 53.70.15P as well.

      Could I also ask which channel you were watching, which channel (i.e. Sky1, Sky1 HD) and the specific programme/film and time frame.

      I can't say it happens on any particular channel.
      When it's gone out of sync, and I change channels, the sound stays out of sync.
      Thing is. I got the tv from comet when it was shutting down, so I can't even take it back.

      If the problem were to do with the TV, then Samsung's support isn't too bad and they should be able to help you.

      I love my Samsung LE40C650 TV and am thinking about a 3D TV later this year. For both of you, there isn't any control over the sound delay from your STBs over the HDMI feed. However there may be some options in the TV's menu.

      What I would suggest though, when the finances are available of course, get yourselves a suitable HT. These two look nice:

      However this doesn't resolve what you are both witnessing at the moment.

      yes, it is R005.053.70.15P, The problem occurs generally across channels and also on playback of recordings
