    Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions

This is a discussion on Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions within the Sky+ HD Supertelly forums, part of the Other Sky help and support category; That is most certainly a little confusing. I wouldn't worry about it though. The only difference between the two versions ...

I wouldn't worry about it though. The only difference between the two versions is related to the Denon issue.

Some reports of version R005.054.15.00P starting to roll out to samsung boxes, don't know if its true or what it fixes, perhaps you can confirm and update the first post.

      Thanks

Thank you. Could you confirm if they are beta trialists or not please? I am keeping those versions which are just for the beta groups off the table and will happily put it in if it is for everyone else.

Actually my box updated also and I am not part of any beta test so I guess it has been rolled out to everyone

Thank you mrb172. I have updated the table as a result of your post and a PM.

If the owners of the other STBs could keep their eyes open please. I am hopeful that Sky will be issuing new versions for the other STBs soon too.

Re: Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions

Pace boxes got the 16 P software update this morning. It has fixed the sound issues from the new EPG such as taking several seconds after pressing play before any sound comes out.

We are not on any Beta so seems a general release.

It was released to beta testers on the 17th, so it looks like they are now only allowing a few days for beta testing. I suppose it is understandable as they were so many complaints about the bugs in the last issue. Hopefully they have now managed to fix them all.

Re: Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions

Scubbie - I note that you are directing people to here saying that these updates are solving the sound drop outs on Pace boxes.

They do NOT do so in my experience. As I note they fix the delay in sound returning when you press play. But the frequent sound drop outs plauging Pace boxes via Optical leads since the new EPG arrived are here as bad as ever.

On another forum I read that some Amstrad users are getting new updates which enable Dolby over HDMI as well as Optical.

Please tell us this is coming to Pace boxes as well soon and that it will remove the need for an optical link and will finally resolve these sound drop outs that are very frustrating.

That will be for the newer Amstrad boxes. The older one, the Pace and the Samsung are unlikely to get this update. I don't think the hardware in them is up to it. It is possible these older boxes will go the way of the Thomson and the Dodo.
