Re: Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions
Blimey, that's a bit harsh!
I think if using government guidelines & terminology, 'friday night binger' would suffice.
I would say that, in general, the new firmware has targeted aesthetics over functionality.
Everything looks nicer but several actions now require more button presses than before.
Also, when scanning the EPG i'm finding that programmes aren't jumping out at me like they used to.
I can't quite put my finger on why & guess it's something i will eventually adapt to, but currently it's taking twice as long to have a detailed look at what's on tonight.
Plus those off grid arrows indicating that a show runs beyond the 90 minutes on screen are barely visible on both my tv's with their (painstakingly calibrated) picture settings.
So nothing major.
At least the peculiarities of the back-up button haven't affected me yet.

If the new EPG requires more button presses to achieve the same result then I won't like it either!

Re: Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions
Just to add...
When on the homepage, i also thought that the coloured buttons performed the same functions as before, except now without the prompts displayed at the bottom of the screen.
However unlike before, the yellow button now takes you to the EPG instead favourites.
I'm now resigned to the fact that these updates merely represent the latest installment of what is a continuing advancement by sky & that all we're seeing here with R009 is a stop-gap.
Which by its very nature means that we, the customer will probably never experience a fully coherent remote/stb/tv functionality ever again.
Roll on the rev10 remote.Last edited by gymno; 20-04-14 at 08:45 PM.

Re: Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions
So why hasn't my box got it then?
I still have 03p.

Re: Sky+ HD STB Firmware Versions
Surprised .08P is on stream as most of us still have .03P. Are we expected to update ourselves?
