      Re: hdmi splitter

Sky uses High-def copy protection (HDCP) and not all splitters are compatible with this. I thought that it might be useful to read the reviews to see is someone had tried that specific splitter with Sky and found this one:

      (What is this?)

      This review is from: Cablesson® - 2 Way HDMI SPLITTER BOX 1x2 Port (1 x 2) (1
      input 2 output) - Active Amplifier - v1.3c ** 3D Enabled ** 1080p Full HD -
Display HD on 2 TVs - Free Shipping (Electronics)

Im an AV enthasiast, but was using this unit to split a simple Sky signal to two tv sets. This unit worked ok for a few months, not great picture quality but acceptable. Then the units problems started, popping, flickering and cutting out completely. I contacted the maker Cabbleson. After being treated on the phone like a total imbisol being accused that I was not using the product correctly they agreed for me to send the product back for testing at my own cost. I sent them the unit without the power supply. The product was eventually replaced after all this red tape. This second unit lasted about 3 months before showing the exact same problem. I contacted Cabbleson again and yet again after a long debate I was told to send in the unit again for testing also having to again pay the secure postage. A week later the same faulty unit was returned to me. When I phoned them up I was told that the unit could not be tested because I did not send them the power supply? The unit has now gone a few days out of warranty so I'm just going to give up with this dreadful company, as the cost of getting the unit to them is getting out of control. I would definitely NOT recommend this product or this company.
Perhaps someone can suggest another splitter?

Remind me if I don't reply later as I've looked into this in the past and I'm sure I've got a bookmark with recommended products for sky.

Look for neet brand, they are the recommended ones. Ensure you get a powered version.
