Freeview signal from Sky+HD box for second TV
Hi,
I currently have a new sky HD box with my TV in my living room and have a sky+HD subscription
I'm going to buy another sony hd tv with built in Freeview receiver to go in my new conservatory
I do not wish to buy sky multiroom for this 2nd tv, I only wish to watch the available free view channels.
Somebody told me that I do not have to buy a new digital aerial for this 2nd tv and that I can run an extra cable off my existing sky HD box which will give me a digital free view signal for my 2nd tv
To summaries i would like two tvs running off one sky+hd box, first tv showing sky and second show free view only.
Is this possible? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated
Thankyou

Re: Freeview signal from Sky+HD box for second TV
Provided that your terrestrial TV aerial is also feeding through the Sky STB, then you will be able to receive Freeview as well.
Freeview is a terrestrial signal, Sky is from the Satellites. Your Sky STB will definitely be connected to the Satellite dish, but you will need to double check that the main aerial is also connected.
In addition, you will be able to tune the 2nd TV to the Sky STB using the UHF signal. If you use a Magic-Eye, you could also change the channels. The magic-eye is different to Multi-room in that you share the one set top box (STB) and watch the same channel/recording.

Re: Freeview signal from Sky+HD box for second TV
If you want to just watch terrestrial Freeview channels on the new TV then you only need a standard terrestrial antenna connecting to the TV - it doesn't need to have any connection to the Sky box.
If you run a standard coax from the Sky box to the second TV then you will be able to watch the same channel as is displayed on the original TV (or if the original TV is OFF then you can display the Sky channel of your choice).

Re: Freeview signal from Sky+HD box for second TV
Freeview is a terrestrial ONLY service and doesn't need any Sky connection.
