RF2 output faulty on HD box???

For months now I have been trying resolve issues with a Magic Eye. The eye unit has an illuminated red light but I am unable to change channels or utilise the controller. I have reset the HD box and turned on RF2 output and saved changes. I have refitted the coaxil cables at both ends but still nothing. On a few occasions I was able to enjoy a few hours of magic eye control but the it fails though the red light remains lit. Now the magic eye has no illumination nor does it if I plug it directly to the RF2 output on the HD box. Methinks that my box is faulty in which case I am not happy as now out of warranty. I have been through about 4 boxes over past two years and frankly hate the quality and resilience of these things. Can anyone out there make me happy with a soloution?? I know its not a new topic but I just cant find answers to a common problem.

There are 3 things to consider:

      1. the magic eye

      2. the coax

      3. the STB

Since you've plugged the magic eye into the rear of the STB, that would seem to eliminate the coax, but it might be good to plug in a short coax between the magic eye and the STB.

In order to double check the STB, it might be prudent to check the voltage coming out of the RF2 output. If you have access to a DVM (Digital Voltage Meter) you should be able to get 9.1vDC if I recall correctly. Report back with the voltage to be sure.

Finally, rather than purchase a 2nd magic eye, do you know someone who has also got a Sky STB that you could test your magic eye on?
