New Sky HD box - is there a way of watching recordings on the old box?

However, i'm upgrading to a new terrabyte Sky HD box (not from Sky i might add) and have hours of recordings on my old HD box (which is beginning to show signs of powers upply issues, hence the change). Is there any way to view the recorded content on the old box once i have paired the Sky card with the terrabyte box?

You won't be able to watch on the box itself. You are able to use Copy+ to transfer recordings from the old box to the new one, if you want to go down that route.

Theres two options available to you:
1. Copy the recordings using Copy+ by hooking up both the new boxes hard drive and the old boxes hard drive to your computer
2. When you want to watch a recording on the old box (Non-Movie/Sport ONLY) simply swap the cables over to it, insert your sky viewing card and then you should be able to watch as normal.

Ok option 2 that's what i was looking for.....

when you say "cables" are you including the sky dish signal feeds? since having replaced the sat dish due to a loss of signal i noticed that the recorded programmes were iunavailable to view presumably because the box couldn't detect an incoming feed...

No, it wouldn't - and I'm not even sure that option #2 would work, once the card is paired with the new box. If you're going to use Copy+, you need to do it before you put any recordings on the drive in the new box, because Copy+ will over-write whatever is on there.
