Unwanted programs being recorded by Sky+ HD box

      Hi - I'm new

Our recently installed Sky+ HD box is recording unwanted programs. These seem to be at 9pm on Sky 3, on most days, and nobody in the house is selecting them. They are not things we want - "Dogs in Frocks" for example!

OK we can delete them, but sometimes they cause a recording conflict.

What is happening - and can I stop it?

      Any help gratefully received.

      Nigel

Have you, or anybody else, set up Remote Record? Maybe it's being used without your knowledge. Phone Sky, they must have a record somewhere on your account. Also, it's easy to accidentally press the wrong button and set up a recording, instead of, say, a reminder. Any kids in the house? Recordings don't happen by chance, although I've read of older Thomsons with failing PSU's *allegedly* doing this occasionally, but nobody's ever proved it.

Look at future planned recordings in your Sky Planner (Play or TV Guide > Green). Press Yellow to delete unwanted planned recordings. If you have the Mini TV enabled, only 6 recordings are shown at a time. Use Channel -/+ to Page Down/Up to ensure you haven't overlooked anything.

Hi, thanks all, and no we have not set up remote record.

Yes we have a 15 year old but no she's not recorded these and we trust her!

They don't seem to appear in future on the planner. They appear as recorded programmes, or the first sign we have is that they cause a conflict.

We had Sky+ (non HD) before so know how to use the system generally.

For the moment we've deleted them all and any series link, I'll see if they reappear!

      Thanks

Are you talking about Sky Anytime (Red button in the Sky Planner)? This downloads programmes overnight, but you can only play them if you subscribe to the relevant channel. It would explain recordings appearing. It is used as a marketing ploy to get you to upgrade your package.
You can turn Sky Anytime off if you wish: Services > Options > Customise > Enable Anytime > OFF > Green to Save Settings.

Thanks - that may be the issue - I've now turned it off.

Sky Anytime will NEVER cause a conflict. Recordings that you set up will always take priority. I'd advise you to do a planner rebuild, and if that fails do a complete box reset (nothe that the latter will wipe both the planner contents and any recordings you've made).
