      2nd Sky HD Subscription

      Hi Guys,

I currently have sky hd with multiroom (2nd box is sky+). I have just got a new hdtv and was contemplating updating the 2nd box to hd.

I know that you have to pay for a 2nd HD subscription on top of the first one (and multiroom) and that the offers you see don't apply to existing customers.

I was contemplating buying the 2nd box from eBay, installing myself and then calling Sky to pair the card and get the 2nd subscription.

Anway, I called sky out of curiosity and asked if there were any offers and the guy told me that for a one off payment of 209 for the box and installation I could get Sky HD on the 2nd box without another subscription (i.e. just a one off payment).

Do you think this is correct? If not, and I do go down the DIY road - how do I get the box paired and the 2nd subscription - just call up Sky? When I mentioned this to the Sky guy on the phone he said you couldn't do it as you need to install through Sky.

      Any guidance appreciated.

      Ta,

      Phil.

You don;t need to go thrugh Sky.

I cannot see the 2nd HD sub being free unless it is a new offer, I would certainly want this verified before I placed an order.

To pair the card it is a simple case of ringing them and getting it done. You will however need a second card to pair so you may need to order this from Sky as a multiroom card.

      Thanks for the quick reply.

I have the second card already.

So I just phone up and ask them to pair this card? Do I also ask at this time for a 2nd HD subscription (so I can get sports)? Will they do this over the phone or do you need to place a formal order?
