Has the HD box got 2 different outputs?

No I don't mean RF, Scart and HDMI!

See if anybody understands what I'm on about...

On my old Sky box and Sky+ box, I had output 1 set to 16:9 and output 2 set to 4:3 letterbox. The picture in my bedroom (out2) would be fullscreen and squashed until I pressed a key on the remote when then picture would change to the correct output with a black bar at the top and bottom. If I then went back into the Living room (out1) it would be the wrong sized picture until again I pressed a button on the remote.

Now on the HD box, the picture on output 1 and output 2 is always in the correct ratio as a 16:9 and 4:3LB respectively at the same time!

(I wonder if this is where the 2nd output interactive bug comes from???)

      i know what you mean
on services , 1 you can choose the rf1(scart) and the rf2 outputs.
      i.e. 16:9 or 4:3)

Re: Has the HD box got 2 different outputs?

Correct... as I say, on older boxes (Standard Sky and Sky+) it used to be the same picture that adjusted to the settings on the box depending on where you viewed.

On the HD box, the picture is always showing to the settings without any adjustments. I've looked at the specs for the Pace box, and it does have the facility for displaying two different pictures. I would assume that Sky haven't made "two different viewings" available because they make more money from Multiroom.

Re: Has the HD box got 2 different outputs?

Yes, but it is always a different size picture

      On Sky/Sky+

      Scart & RF1 > Set to 16:9 > Remote control signal from box > Shows 16:9

RF2 > Set to 4:3 letterbox > Remote control signal from box > Shows 16:9

      Scart & RF1 > Set to 16:9 > Remote control signal fromMagicEye > Shows 4:3LB

RF2 > Set to 4:3 letterbox > Remote control signal from MagicEye > Shows 4:3LB

      On the HD Box...

      HDMI, Scart & RF1 > Set to 16:9 > ALWAYS shows 16:9

      RF2 > Set to 4:3 letterbox > ALWAYS shows 4:3LB

My original question was based on whether Sky had planned to let you watch 2 different tv channels or recordings from one box.

      oh that.

apparantly sky are working on a multiroom box, that can output 2 different picture.
ie. sky one downstairs and sky movies up
