      HD freeview

I am puzzled as to how freeview HD works.

I understand you need a digital aerial like Skys to get the new freesat HD - can you use your existing sky aerial and still get Sky or would you need two of them?

I understand that Panasonic are building HD freeview into some of their TVs will this rapidly become common?

      Re: HD freeview

Freeview HD is undergoing trials in the London area, it is terrestrial and you will be able to receive it with an aerial.
Freesat/Freesat HD is a satellite service and you receive it with a satellite dish.
People who already have Sky dishes will be able to receive Freesat HD if they purchase a suitable Freesat box.

Panasonic have a TV with built in Freesat HD, sets with freeview tuners are not HD.

      Re: HD freeview

oh well not for us in Stevenage then as we don't have a TV transmitter and NTL turned off the communal cable signal when they bought out the local cable firm.

I have enquired when we would get a TV transmitter in this part of hertfordshire and it seems that we aren't, so Sky or virgin for us only it seems.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!
