Windows 10 SkyGo
Just upgraded PC from Windows 7.1 to Windows 10 and can't get Skygo to work. It seems to be a problem with Silverlight. I am not using Edge. I can hear audio but there is no video in the preview panel. It says "An error has occurred. The application must now terminate."
The browser is IE 11.0.10240.16384 (but have also tried Firefox 39.0.0.5659 and it shows the same error). Current version of Silverlight is 5.1.40620.0 but I have also tried 5.1.40416.0 which performs the same in both browsers.
Has anyone else seen this? Sky support state that they have not had any troubleshooting guidance issued to them for Windows 10.
Many Thanks.

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
Check your date, time and language settings as they need to set to UK and not anything like USA.

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
Thanks for the tip. Went round the Control Panel looking for anything like this and, after a reboot, I can now see video properly in things like the free previews. Therefore, I am assuming that the Silverlight problem is fixed. However, when I try to use this PC to access any live channel, the wheel turns and buffers the program as if it's about to start - then a blue screen appears again with the message: "Apologies, this item has been interrupted due to an error. Please refresh your page and try again later. [t:6038 / c:4110]"
Previously today I had deleted one PC and one Android tablet (my only 2 devices) and added this Win 10 PC as the only device. When it looked as though it was going too work I also subscribed to SkyGo Plus to get into the Movies. But when I look at my account, this order hasn't been processed yet.
Does anyone know if this error message is consistent with it just not being ready yet?
Cheers for any help.

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
For that error the normal fix for the problem is this, as mentioned in the sky community forum
1. Open Microsoft Silverlight
2. Click on the Application Storage tab.
3. Ensure the box is checked to Enable Application Storage at the bottom of the window.
4. Select any entries in the window that mention Sky, Sky Go or Sky Player and hit the delete button to remove these entries.
5. Click on the Playback tab and ensure the box is checked to Enable download and updates to components required for protected content playback.

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
A BIG Thank You is due to both of the above contributors - my Ultrabook is now working properly.
I am going to speak to Sky and report this because IMHO they were much too quick to respond to my support call by treating it as a Windows 10-specific when it's actually totally generic.
For the benefit of anyone else who might have experienced this, the following configuration works fine after performing the steps above:
HP Ultrabook
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Intel Core i5-3317U CPU at 1.7 GHz
Intel HD4000 Graphics
Internet Explorer 11.0.10240.163849
or - Mozilla Firefox 39.0.0.5659
Silverlight 5.1.40620.0
Good luck.

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
The same happens to me. However you will see that The Internet Explorer has been left behind on your system and it works perfectly well.
No need to get frustrated with Edge and Firefox, carry on using IE ("Simples")

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
No problem with Firefox 40.0.3. I don't even bother with Edge, it is still too 'green'. Maybe in time when it gets more apps written for it, it will be better.

IE = The number one browser in the world for downloading Chrome/Firefox!

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
I have recently downloaded Windows 10 and I can now watch Skygo. I have uninstalled Silverlight and reinstalled. I am not technically minded !! So I am completely lost.

Re: Windows 10 SkyGo
Not certain what your problem is, unless you have made a typo and mean you cannot watch Sky Go on Win 10. If this is the case be aware that Sky Go is not compatible with the Win 10 built in browser, Edge and as Chrome no longer supports Silverlight, it too is useless. This means you need IE or Firefox or some other compatible browser.
There are a few more fixes but try another browser first.
