Internet Explorer, which is hidden in Windows 10

You can ask Cortana, say Hey Cortana open internet explorer
or just type internet explorer in the search box

Sky go works fine in firefox on Windows 10, what errors are you getting?

Thank you so much for all your help. I have resolved the issue by changing the date and time to UK format and not USA (Windows 10).

Use Firefox ad it will work just fine. You'll need to approve the Silverlight add-on though.

I believe that they are working to get it running on Edge. IE is due to be phased out soon. Chrome no longer supports Silverlight.

The language and date is a common problem, and is quite a common theme when users update to Windows 10. The iso/media creation tool does default to it, so you have to make sure you watch and change your locales during install.
The insider ongoing builds have returned twice for me on two machines I use to a US locale and/or date format through an update.

Edge will not support proprietary video delivery systems and sky will be taking a different approach for the PC I expect.
The MS dev team delivered the statement below some time ago and is still true.

Support for ActiveX has been discontinued in Microsoft Edge, and that includes removing support for Silverlight. The reasons for this have been discussed in previous blogs and include the emergence of viable and secure media solutions based on HTML5 extensions. Microsoft continues to support Silverlight, and Silverlight out-of-browser apps can continue to use it.

Silverlight will also continue to be supported in Internet Explorer 11, so sites continue to have Silverlight options in Windows 10. At the same time, we encourage companies that are using Silverlight for media to begin the transition to DASH/MSE/CENC/EME based designs and to follow a single, DRM-interoperable encoding work flow enabled by CENC. This represents the most broadly interoperable solution across browsers, platforms, content and devices going forward.
IE is not being phased out yet. Current versions will remain supported as per the OS lifecycle support, whether that be a consumer OS or a server OS.
Edge is an addition and yes the default browser for windows 10. But its still in infancy (some say beta) and it will not be getting any extensions until at least Spring next year.
Its main draw is as a universal app that integrates with windows 10 to promote MS services like Cortana and onedrive and annotation tools that promote touch and hardware like the Surface pen.

      Re: Windows 10 SkyGo

I am interested in your fix for the problem with sky go not working in Windows 10 after upgrade from win 7..I have this problem now may 2016 and have just spent an hour with the Sky Agent from Livingstone trying to get it to work, she literally tried everything and has had to forward it to a specialist team that deals with these issues.I tried your fix but it does not work for me.I do not get any error codes as some have, just get a black screen,,nothing.Has anyone else come up with a fix for this since the original posting in august 2015 last? Be nice to get a reply from you or should I just POST a new question ? Michael

There is a fix posted on the sky forum about this here, it involves removing silverlight and deleting a file.
