      Sky Go for Xbox360

As of 29th July you will need to subscribe to Sky Go Extra (SGE) to be able to use the App on your Xbox360, it looks like this will be the case for all consoles in the future.

Sky bean counters continue to find ways to milk us for every penny

Good news is Multiscreen users get SGE free so no change for them and some customers are being offered SGE at half price for 6 months.

This will be good news for those out there with an Xbox 360 as Sky Go Extra will allow them to download things for watching later for the first time too.

But bad news for those using someone else's Sky Go login details to view content, which I suspect is the real motivation behind this move. Still, if someone is willing to allow you access then it's not much of a hardship to bung them 60 a year for the privilege!

      Re: Sky Go for Xbox360

As of today my sky go is still working perfectly on my xbox. I haven't been upgraded to sky go extra without my knowledge as I can't download any content, only streaming live and on demand.

I don't subscribe to multi screen so it seems strange that I can still access the service (not that I'm complaining).

Has anyone else been able to continue using the service without paying for SGE or multi screen? I'm hoping that sky have decided against extorting their customers.

You must be a glitch as we've been getting complaints about it since yesterday from people who don't read things Sky send them!

I guess this is one of those occasions were a glitch is more than welcome.

I will make the most of it whilst it lasts. Every time I go on there I keep expecting to see an error or message saying I've lost access, the suspense is killing me...

So I re-read the knowledge base article about this change. It has been updated recently!

A selected (but unspecified) number of customers will retain the ability to view Sky Go on Xbox360 without needing to subscribe to Sky Go Extra.
So it sounds like you are one of these customers.

These customers were NOT sent a letter about this change.

It sounds like this is "trial" which will either be removed later or reverted later depending on cancel rates.

      Re: Sky Go for Xbox360

Ok I see thanks for the information.

I'm happy that I can continue to use the service, but this seems a bit unfair really.

Whilst it is nice for the few who do continue to get Sky Go access, if the trial goes well, then everyone else stands a chance of getting it later too.

Did you get a letter/email about the change?
If you did then you ARE a glitch.
