Sky have blocked skygo tv connection

I have recently been trying to discover why I can no longer connect my Laptop to a TV to watch SKYGO.
Whenever I plug in a HDMI lead or VGA lead, I get Errors t6036 C4110 which immediately disappear when I take out the lead.
Just phone SKY & they say they now blocked this usage - but unfortunately have not publicized it.

SO, don't wast time trying now.

Any info on workarounds of course would be appreciated.

      Phil

I don't see how they can tell the difference between a TV and a PC monitor?

Yes, you have been served BS, they would have to block it from the laptop/PC which they have not done. The answer to your question is here - Sky Help Forum - Sky Go - Fix C:1501 - C:1503 and C:16000 - C:16040... - Help & Support from the Official Sky Forum

Yep they do block it on iOS (not sure about android) which is perhaps why the C/S rep thought it was blocked

Yes, I know, when I had an iPad I wasted about 20 quid buying a connector only to find it was barred from showing on the TV.

I've just connected my Win 8 laptop to both a monitor and TV and all is working just fine.

Sky does also block Android devices from using the USB to HDMI device when watching Sky Go. You have to unplug the device first.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

That is a sliverlight error you are getting.
Some device drivers have been causing this error in your scenario.
The way to fix it is to make the TV the primary or only screen display.

Re: Sky have blocked skygo tv connection

When Sky Go first came out on IOS you could use Jail broken devices and HDMI out was not blocked but over time Sky have changed this to blocking Jail broken devices and HDMI out for both IOS and Android. The strange part of all is that NOWTV allows HDMI out for IOS and Android devices. Sorry I can't work that 1 out. Unless it's ok if you have to pay for it???????????

Or just pick up an appletv and then stream to that onto your tv.

That doesn't work either as Sky block that.
