      Sky Go and Windows 8

I bought a new Windows 8 laptop in Jan and it was working fine with Sky Go up until sometime in April. At that time it got deleted because too many device changes had been made on the account that month.

I had phoned Sky and was told this and that I couldn't use it again until 16th May. On the 16th may I tried to get the laptop re-registered and nothing I did would get it to work. I then went onto the Sky help forum and posted something about this. After a while someone from Sky answered my post and tried to help me.

After much discussion I eventually phoned up Sky (on a freephone number) and after much more discussion eventually the lady discovered I was using Windows 8 at which point I was told that Win 8 doesn't work with Sky Go.

You might have thought that the first question Sky people would ask is what operating system are you using but seemingly not. What a waste of time and how frustrating it is dealing with Sky. Now I'm told they have no idea when Win 8 and Sky Go will be compatible.... but how come it worked fine at one time and now doesn't?

As there isn't much about this on here I thought I'd post this in case anyone else is having the same problem.

I have had Windows 8 since before the launch and Sky Go works fine here under Firefox 22 & IE10, so I guess you have a Sky agent that does not know what they are on about

Mine worked fine as well until it was deleted. The question is would yours be able to reconnect after being deleted? If mine hadn't been deleted it probably would still be working too. I'm guessing having read this you wouldn't want to delete yours in case you were unable to reconnect it later on....

Is there anyone who has a Windows 8 pc/laptop that was using it on Sky Go at one time then it was deleted and who subsequently managed to reconnect it?

Sky Go on Windows 8 is very hit and miss, I can get it to work on my desktop but can't on my lappy, I could only get it to work on desktop by usimg ie10 in windows 7 mode. Sky will not give any support to you due to the fact that it's not officially supported. When I have no idea.
