      XboX360 using SKY application

      Hi All,

I know that what I ask for is impossible for a reason Im not sure I understand.

I have an Xbox360 with the Sky application installed and I can watch the sample channel SKY News.

My wife lived in the UK for 14 years and one thing she really misses and that is the BBC and SKY channels. As a Xmas gift I would like to get the Sky entertainment packgage since I know that it would make her very happy.

Now I would like to _purchase_ sky entertainment package to get more channels, but unfortunately this is not allowed because I live in Sweden.

Do you know if there is any efforts at all made by Sky to provide their services outside UK/ROI?

I think Sky's licence terms prevent them from broadcasting outside the UK and RoI, but here are subsidiaries which can help with this. Have a look here-

      hmm
      okay,
so even if I want to do this right I can never do it because either SKY is not interested or they are prevented by a license agrement they have.
Too bad that this kind of approach to the problem invites to buy non-legal services instead. Donīt know if I want yet another device in front of the telli, the Xbox is just about enough...

anyway thanks for the quick response.

On second thoughts you best solution may be NowTV. This is delivered over the internet so you do not need a dish. You will still need a decoder(Sky HD Box), which would be required even if you are using an illegal method.

      Re: XboX360 using SKY application

Hello Again, I have now googled a bit more on this topic and stumbled across something called overplay. Is there anyone in this forum who has tested this on their Xbox 360 ? I have tried to google it for Reviews but that came up empty so I am a bit worried

      Re: XboX360 using SKY application

Overplay is a VPN service which over-rides your DNS servers to allow you to access services not available in your own country. For example, it allows UK residents to access the USA based servers of Netflix, which have a much better selection. I am not sure how you would use it to get Sky.

There are plenty of Reviews on Google, it is up to you whether you believe them

      Re: XboX360 using SKY application

The only way to get Sky without a dish and decoder is through Sky Go. I am not sure if you would need a UK address to order it, probably would but that would not be a problem if you have Uk contacts. You would still need a VPN to access it.
