      YouView?

Does anyone know if Sky are planning to launch Sky Go to YouView boxes? I understand that NOW TV will be available through the platform but haven't heard anything about Sky Go. I used to use my Fetch TV Smartbox in the bedroom to view Sky Go, which was very handy when our Sky+HD box was in use. Since Sky Go left Fetch TV, I have been planning to buy a new Freeview HD PVR that would support the service hoping that YouView would be the one to go for.

      Thank You.

Sadly that doesn't indicate anything about Sky Go, meaning Sky customers won't be able to benefit. It's great that Sky TV channels will be available on the box, although it seems only TalkTalk customers will be able to take advantage. The NOW TV service also caters mainly for non-Sky subscribers and still requires Sky customers to pay for access.

It looks as if they will push the NOW TV brand to non-Sky customers (either directly or via other platforns such as YouView), and keep the Sky Go brand for services to Sky customers.

That's my understanding. Sky will use the YouView service as a way to expand their market to people who have been resistant to the established Sky distribution channels. A sensible approach to attract people who don't like or can't have a dish.

If they were smart they'd make the channels available to sky customers as a multiroom package.
