      Registration Question

Hi, I am having some trouble over Sky Go & wanted to ask you knowledgable people a question. Sorry if it has come up before but I have tried the search and could not find anything recent on it.

I registered my pc this month on Sky Go and the day after it went bang, so I put in a new hard drive & tried to register with Sky Go again & got the usual "you have already...blah, blah blah"
So I contacted sky to be told that by law they can only change 1 piece of equipment per month & that it is all automated and there is absolutely NO way they can override it.

Is this true? Are they really unable to just reset it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

      Phil

      Re: Registration Question

Not quite. They are correct that they are not able to do this at a customers request. However if they have needed to remove devices as part of troubleshooting the issue, and it is the advisor that takes you through it not just the customer doing it themselves then it can be arranged for an extra change to be allowed.

      Thanks for your reply indefatigable

Any suggestions on how I could persuade a sky advisor to aid me in my quest? )

Alas no matter what even on the above will Sky reset your devices for you. they have even removed this part from Their T&C. Sky Tech Peeps know of a bug going around that removes your devices and they are working on it and they will not even reset them then. The only thing you can do is sadly wait until July 1st.

      Re: Registration Question

It's terrible, it's to easy to wipe the silverlight cookie off the machine causing it to think it's a new device.

Also they won't let you airplay the ipad version of Sky GO but will let you use it on an Xbox connected to the TV... What kind of stupid logic is that given that airplay streams can be encrypted with apples DRM anyway.

It would be, if this post was not about 6 months old.

At that time it was on a wait of a couple of weeks.

These 6 month bumps play havoc with the suspension.
