re: Sky Go on Android 4?
Sky are messing around.
Apparently someone accidentally released a version of Sky Go too early. I downloaded this new version myself, having removing the hacked version, only to find that it doesn't work now as well.
If you want to try the hacked version, take a look at this thread: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-g...t-working.html

re: Sky Go on Android 4?
This was the original download of Sky Go when it became first available a month ago and was working with the previous version of Android. Then I upgraded to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and it failed to work, then all of a sudden last week it worked for a few days and Friday it packed up again.

re: Sky Go on Android 4?
That was much the same as my own experience too. After the OS update I couldn't view Sky Go. I was then lead to the hacked version. When I found out that there was a fixed version available, I used that. Unfortunately Sky blocked it again.
I've just reinstalled the hacked version and it works fine. The links are in the thread above.

re: Sky Go on Android 4?
It had been reported that Sky are working on a version to support ICS and obviously they appear to be.
It seems that something wasn't ready and a lot of people apparently got told off for reporting that it was available on the Android Market for download.
Excuses have been made and suggestions of lots of bugs to be resolved first before it can be properly released.
I guess we could be waiting until 2020

re: Sky Go on Android 4?
Sorry I don't like Fruit lol.. The ICS version that Sky released (Which as Scubbie said they denied and told people off for saying it was working (Me) )
they reported full of bugs and unstable and couldn't be used by anyone so they blocked it. A poll doing the rounds on that forum has over 400 names that used it and nobody had anything like sky are saying. So pass

re: Sky Go on Android 4?
Purely speculation, but I wonder if perhaps Sky forgot to lock down a particular feature on one model which meant that someone could plug that one model into the HDTV or computer monitor?
Other possible reasons include the ability to use Sky Go on phones outside UK & Ireland, issues over rights to show material on specific models and a premature release over a bigger release date.
With all the current ads on TV pushing Sky Go I still think that it may have been purely political in pulling this off the Android Market. It seems like another mistake by Sky.
It would be nice if they could communicate correctly. We know these things are present, but they continue to mess the customer base around.

re: Sky Go on Android 4?
Yes, you have put your finger on it there. There may well be perfectly valid reasons behind all this other than pure incompetence but lack of any sensible communication makes it seem that is exactly what it is.
Also, there are plenty of other companies involved in sorting out licensing issues for new devices who are not making anything like the song and dance Sky are. You'd think they are the only people in the world having to accommodate DRM on Android devices!
