      Sky Go FAQ's

      As Sky Go has replaced Sky Player, it now allows you to watch Sky simultaneously on 2 devices as well as the option to watch Sky from mobile devices.

      The following are a selection of the most common frequently asked questions.

      1) What OS can I use the Sky Go software on?

      The Sky Go will work on:
      • Microsoft Windows Vista (32 bit)
      • Windows XP, Service Pack 3
      • Mac
      • iPhone’s, iPad’s, iPod touch

      Unfortunately, the Sky Go Software is not currently available for Linux.

      2) How many computers can I register to use the Sky Go software?

      With Sky Go you'll be able to register up to two devices and watch on both at the same time. Your registered devices can be a combination of any two of the following: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, PC or Mac.

      3) What if I wish to change the registered PC that I have the Sky Go software on?

      You will need to visit Sky Go homepage and select Manage device option from which you can remove and add devices. However you can change your devices twice a month, but if you wish to change it more than twice then you will need contact Sky's CST on 08442 41 41 41. Once Sky have cleared your current registration, simply install the Sky Go Software on your new PC.

      4) What are the minimum specifications for the PC to install the Sky Player Software?
      • Microsoft Windows Vista (32 bit)
      • Windows XP, Service Pack 3
      • 250MB free disk space for the installation
      • 3GB free disk space for media file storage (recommended 10GB)
      • 512MB memory (RAM)
      • You must have iOS version 4.2 or above installed on your mobile device and have continuous Wi-Fi or 3G coverage to watch content on Sky Go. (Minimum continuous bandwidth of 500Kb per second is recommended for Wi-Fi connectivity on iPhone/iPod touch and 2Mb per second for iPad). Please note - Sky Go only supports 4th Generation iPod touches, iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4 devices.

      5) Will anything on my PC need upgrading to run the Sky Go Software?

      During install of the software, it may be necessary to upgrade or install the following:
      • Microsoft Silverlight (with DRM enabled)
      • NET Framework v2.0

      6) Why do I need to install software if I can watch Sky Go through my browser?

      You will need to use the Sky Go Software, so that you can:
      • Watch Movies and Entertainment programmes
      • Download Programmes
      • ensure top-quality viewing.

      7) How do I uninstall the Sky Player software?

      Go to your Control Panel, Add / Remove programs and uninstall the program.
      8) Where are the Official Sky Player Help Pages?
