      Sky Go switching off

Since coming home from holidays at start of month i've had a problem with sky player/go. When watching in full screen mode laptop shuts down completely after about 10mins viewing, this doesn't happen when left on tv guide page with small screen in top corner or when i watch iplayer. laptop settings are set to always on when plugged in which it always is.
      Thanks for any help.

Have you tried running a Utilty that monitors CPU temperature? It could be Safari isn't handling the graphics (in full screen mode) as efficiently as IE and the CPU is overloaded which will raise its temperature to a point where the laptop shuts down automatically.

If this is the case, then I would suggest that dms05 is on the nose.

There are a couple of things that you can do to help resolve this:

      1. blast some compressed air through the laptop's underside when it is switched off (do this outside as there will be a lot of dust coming out)
      2. afterwards always rest the laptop on a surface that is dust free (for example a tray)

I normally rest mine on an old piece of strengthened cardboard, but can also use some trays such as the next link, but there are cheaper ones available (I paid around 7-8):

[ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/TRAY-SOLID-FRAME-SOFT-VINTAGE/dp/B002KXSODK/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1311668527&sr=1-8]TV LAP TRAY WITH SOLID OAK FRAME AND SOFT BEAN BAG BASE "VINTAGE 5": Amazon.co.uk: Home & Garden[/ame]

The is are cooling mats that you can purchase which can also help. I haven't tried one myself, but you may wish to investigate further. The link below is to one of them, others may be better:
