      Sky Go picture quality

      Hi All,

Just set up Sky Go on my iPhone4 and the quality is appaling. I cant watch SSN as the ticker bar is completely unreadable and the main picture is just as bad.

      Anyone else found this?

      thanks.

      Re: Sky Go picture quality

Just tried it on my iPhone4 using my home network and the pic quality is unwatchable for about 3 seconds, then totally pin sharp.

I can only guess it's your internet connnection? I'll switch off wireless and try 3G.

EDIT on 3G it's awful for about 20 secs then improves. Not as pin-sharp as my home network and drops out from time to time (I live in a weak 3g area for Orange). The ticker is sometimes readable and sometimes not so I guess it depends on how good the 3G or internet connnection is.

The app downloads initially at the lowest bitrate, calculates how quickly it was able to do the download and then adjusts to a bitrate sustainable on the connection. If you get crap pictures its because your connection is slow.

Can anyone advise what will happen to those of us that subscribed to the iphone app. Will the payment be cancelled automatically by sky?

I have noticed the same thing on my PC. Fuzzy at first, then it sharpens up.

If you mean the Mobile TV app then they haven't or rather shouldn't have taken any payments after 6th June, if they have taken it after this date then you need to call them.

      Re: Sky Go picture quality

I have tried this on the 3g network and after a few seconds of bad quality it settles out to be a really good picture.

I was sat in Sainsburys car park waiting for the other half, and was happily watching Monsters Vs Aliens.
