I don't use the sky player on my Xbox as Microsoft insists that you need a Gold account to access it and that is 40 per year.

There has also been quite a lot of complaints that the live channles have some liscening issues with Sky 1 possibly being blacked out for hours upon end due to "rights issues"

I would have thought that WMC was the most subscribed to of the online services and Sky are now concentrating on a fairly small user base of the Xbox and Anytime+.

Makes them look like they are going backwards.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

The Simpsons, for example, is not available to watch on WMC.

Yes I agree with the above and so will not be buying an Xbox and then another sub to watch Sky. Also not able to have anytime+. So it looks like sky want more money off us to be able to watch on line content, which is a backward step, at the moment for me to have anytime+ I'll have to go back to sky BB and 1meg down and 0.5Meg up, which are not good enough to run anytime+ so no chance. As I've stated I only use it to watch sport (rugby) mainly but they have messed that up now as their UK games being shown are next to nothing as they are on ESPN which you have to pay another subs again to watch, glad I'm not a footie fan cos as I understand they have a lot of games on ESPN also, In fact if I remember the FA Cup Final was on ESPN, An American company odd very very odd.

I stopped using Sky Player when I found out it was a delayed stream. You can't sell that stuff as live. That's wrong.

It is a free benefit from your Sky subscription.

The delay means that it is around a minute behind the actual broadcast.

I know it's something for nothing if you are a Sky customer but they should mention it in their advertising or the Sky Player website that it is a delayed service.

      Aye.

Sites such as TVCatchup manage a much shorter delay.

The BBC live streaming is almost identical to the main output on your tv I found when I last checked this out, pretty impressive I thought.
