      Sky Player and 'main computer' problems

      Hi All,

      I've seen a few threads on the forum mentioning the same issue I have but none seem to have a resolution.

      I've reinstalled Silverlight, IE, Chrome, Media Centre and now even Windows 7 (64-bit).

      In Sky Player the problem starts with:
      "You can only watch programmes from this channel on you main computer."

      I then have to delete the 'registered devised' and wait until next month because you can only change the main computer once per month.
      Next months comes, I can use Sky Player / Windows Media Centre, ONCE and the computer appears in 'registered devices'. However the next time / day I try and watch something I get the above error message and so the cycles starts again.

      Does anyone else still have this problem - has anyone ever fixed it?

      There is stuff on the official Sky forum about this issue. The problem is usually with Silverlight. I had it a couple of months back, reinstalled Silverlight through the Sky Player site and everything has been fine since.

      One thing you don't mention is the Sky desktop player - installing and using that can sometimes reset the registration problem.

      Solved: If you are using ccleaner make sure you untick 'Silverlight' under the 'applications' tab.

      My guess is that around October 2010 ccleaner rolled out this new feature.
