Sky Player in Windows Media Center

      Hi
I am running windows 7 home premium 32 bit, and one day for some reason sky player disappears from windows media center, i have no reason why, i uninstalled everything to do with sky and re installed to see if it worked but no luck, and then i did a system restore to when it was working, but still no luck and now the 'sky player for windows media center has gone'

I have tried everything on the internet such as setup guide, opening command prompt and deleting fastnet but none seem to work, but suddenely WMC downloaded and installed msn video player and internet tv, is there any way i can get sky back, cos it was so good using it before in WMC, its really frustrating as nothing is working.

      Thanks in advance

Re: Sky Player in Windows Media Centre

The solution, as posted on the Sky Help Forum is:

      * Open Windows Media Centre on your PC
      * Navigate to Tasks > Settings > General > Update Now

Select the Automatic Updates. The bottom option on the next page is the correct one to attempt to update immediately.

(Sorry my Win 7 Laptop is off at the moment)

Nor could I. Try looking in the Windows update log.

You will find the WMC logs in the Admin Tools>Event Viewer>Applications and Services>Media Centre.

Are you using Win 7 64bit? Most who are having problems seem to be using it. I am using the 32bit version and have no problems, the application is really good.

Re: Sky Player in Windows Media Center

I finally got my baby back today and have been downloading all the updates since she returned.

I can report that Windows Media Centre now works fine here too for Sky Player.

I guess that someone at Sky got M$ to fix the problem as I haven't had time to tweek any of the settings and it worked 1st time.
