      Sky Player Overseas

I have a sky player account and the software installed on my laptop. I am going to the USA and would like to watch sky sports while Im away.

I know you have to be in the UK to register, but if Im accessing my account via a ISP in USA, would I be able to watch live?

If not, is there anyway I can get around this?

      Re: Sky Player Overseas

It all depends if Sky check via IP address.

I know iPlayer does, so you couldn't watch it out of the country.

I would assume, the only way if it is IP blocked would be to use a UK based proxy server, which would then appear to Sky that you are actually in the UK.

Sorry - can't be any further use, maybe someone else could confirm?

Yes, Sky Player also checks that your IP is within the UK. I assume they'll also block known public proxies to try and prevent non-UK people using them to connect.
