      Re: sky player not responding

I get the same kind of thing.

I'm using Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 6400. I can get the silverlight live tv to work. But when I install the Skyplayer for Movies etc, I don't get anything beyond a brief egg timer flash, when I click on the desktop icon for Skyplayer.

It just won't open/start. I've been on the phone for over an hour with Sky, who finally said its probably that I need to reinstall the net framework file (?) in WIndows, and would have to contact Dell or Microsoft for support in doing this.

This is just rubbish - if it is that, then it shouldn't be so difficult for the user to install the player, it's a design fault.

Guess I shall just have to use the BBC iplayer while Sky sorts itself out - or brings out a version that lets me watch movies on a Mac. Which I can't see happening when the movies part of itunes is still developing....

      Re: sky player not responding

I'm getting something similar. I've installed, removed and reinstalled several times now. when I double click the icon to open nothing happens, if I right click and select open nothing happens. Yet if I then try and access skyplayer via the website it tells me I have it open in another window, but I don't. Opening task manager confirms that I don't have it open anywhere. Argh, Any ideas?

      Re: sky player not responding

i had the exact same problem as you described, follow these steps and hopefully you will be up and running again as i am.

      1. uninstall the player in control panel AGAIN (yes i know).
      2. click START>COMPUTER>ORGANIZE(on tool bar)>FOLDER AND SEARCH OPTIONS>VIEW(tab)>check the box next to SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS>OK>APPLY..........now the COMPUTER window should still be open, click on your hard drive then PROGRAM DATA>KONTIKI>and delete file named ZDATA.
      3. now reinstall sky player and fingers crossed you're up and running.
