      Error Code 208 Validation

      Hi,

      I just solved one problem, DRM, now i get error code 208 (validation problem) when trying to play something I have just rented.

      Any ideas

      Just turned off my router firewall and my windows firewall, rebooted and still the same, could it be some sort of registration issue? I guess i will have to call sky, this is crap

      It must be a fault at Sky's end. We can't all have broken it.

      Spoke to the skyplayer helpline today. They tried the following to get rid of the error 208 when logging in:

      1. Uninstall and reinstall skyplayer, was asked to remove the service from 'My Sky' on the sky website and then remove the software from the PC. Then enable the service in 'My Sky' and download the software again -NO EFFECT ERROR 208 STILL

      Was then passed to the next level of support who suggested

      2. DRM problem. Rename existing DRM folder in 'all users' folder and try to log in. This then required the DRM files to be redownloaded from microsoft. - NO EFFECT ERROR 208 STILL

      Support guy then asked for my email address and asked if it was all content that would not play. I explained again that I was unable to get to any content as I could not log in, he said that was different from the problem that level 1 support had told him.

      3. Set or Re-set something on sky's system (what he did not say) HURRAY CAN NOW LOG IN AND GET TO THE CONTENT.

      Happy sky customer here.

      Suggest others with error 208 on login call support line. Took around 15 mins with the nice Scottish folks to sort me issue anyway.

      Thanks for the fix, although I honestly do not have the inclination to spend time on the phone to get this issue fixed - it should just work.

      I fully agree!

      I only spent the time as I'm trying to maximise the use I get from my Sports mix ahead of decidimg whether to cut back down to SS1 only.

      error 208 is driving me looney. Have spoken at length with many techy scots to no avail. all apologies, no resolution. very annoyed (underatated) soon to be ex-sky subscriber.
