      Sky Player Error Code 211

      I've just installed Sky Player and everytime i login i get the following message:

      Error Windows Media player DRm requires an upgrade. Please click here
      it then gives error code 211

      I've followed the link and performed the upgrade but still the same error

      Using windows XP sp3 media player 11

      any ideas?

      Here's the fixed, I found it and it worked for me

      typed DRM_reset.exe into Google

      . Reset your DRM folder.

      Download "Napster DRM_reset" from

      http://www.napster.com/client/drmreset/DRM_reset.exe


      Launch the DRM_reset.exe utility
      Reboot your machine

      Hi,

      Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I'm having the same issue with Error Code 211.

      I'm running Sky Player on Windows XP SP3, with Windows Media Player 11. Every time I try to sign in using the Sky Player application, I get the "error code 211" message about updating my security components. When I follow the link to the "Microsoft Windows Media security site" it appears to perform the 'upgrade' successfully. However, on closing and re-opening the Sky Player application, I still get the same problem. I've also tried the "DRM reset" tool mentioned in this thread, with no noticeable effect.

      Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I could try? Sky Player works fine otherwise in my web browser, but I would like to be able to download programmes as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

      Hello Alex,

      I received the same error and have a similar setup to yourself on this PC.

      The instructions at the bottom of the page that installed the DRM Enabling software worked well for me. I didn't need to reboot, I just closed & restarted the Sky Player.

      I would recommend checking that you have all the current updates from Micro$oft and retry the DRM update.
