Installing SkyPlayer on a different PC

      Hello to all,

I know this question has probably been asked a million times, and I know you can't install sky player on two different machines at the same time.

I had sky player installed on my home machine when it first came out and my machine has had a few installs since then so there is no remains of sky player on there, I have installed it on my work laptop but when I go to login it says Iím trying to login from a different pc, is there any way that I can register this laptop to use sky player and not my home pc? Do I have to ring up sky and explain to them??

      Cheers

Re: Installing SkyPlayer on a different PC

Good question, I have just tried to change the PC in MY Sky to another one to test for you.

Unfortunately I have checked all the FAQs and Sky Help which is showing nameserver errors and I eventually managed to get this error message

It appears that you are logging in from a different PC. Only one PC can use Sky Player. For assistance, please call Customer Services on 0870 609 4508 and quote the error code. [code - 16]

There is no logical way or path to change the PC that you wish to use, that I can see.

Another reason not to use Sky Player, it is just so dammed cumbersome and user unfriendly.

You must phone the number quoted in the error message. They will clear setting on their server allowing you to install the software on another computer.

I had to go through the same myself.
