Sky Player & Live Sky Sports

Does anyone think it is a bit of a cheek that to watch live Sky Sports via the Sky Player you have to have multiroom onto of having a full Sky Sports package which I have. I fail to see why multiroom is brought into the equation. I agree that people with different package should be allowed different content but this doesn't seem right to me. I would install this in a flash if I could watch SS live on my computer but I refuse to sign up for something I don't require enable to do so.

nope, cos otherwise people will get rid of multiroom and use the PC to watch the premium sports channels and therefore sky will lose multiroom revenue.

Ie if they do what you want then you could watch a movie on your main tv and the live footy on your PC.... under normal circumstances you need a multiroom sub to do this.

Its simply revenue protection so they dont lose MR subs for those that have MR for the above type of senario.

It would be nice if it worked. I have Sky Sports and Multiroom but I still can't watch it online.

I've just got off the phone to sky and it appears its an ongoing issue with a number of accounts and they are unable to explain it.

I would write to William Cunningham
AllCustomerCareEscalation@bskyb.com you might get somewhere with it. More we complain the more they will listen to us
      Good luck

Thanks for that email address Martin. I've penciled that in as a task for this weekend now.

Re: Sky Player & Live Sky Sports

I have never installed the player as I can quite easily watch what I want on the normal channels as there are plenty of +1 channels around if I miss something first time around or program getting repeated many times on Sky Two etc...

I am not going to sign up to multiroom so this Sky Player isn't for me.

Re: Sky Player & Live Sky Sports

if you search enough on the net you can find live feeds of the footy (incl those that are not being shown live in the UK).

I was able to watch every one of Liverpool's prem games Live last year on the net for free.... however after last nights performance, I probably won't bother this year!!!!

Re: Sky Player & Live Sky Sports

I'm interested in the live sports, i have sky sports but i dont have multiroom.

But it says ..... 'Free for sky tv customers with sports mix and multiroom or broadband max'

so if i upgrade to broadband max without multiroom i get the live sports!?
