    Sky Email setup and settings

This is a discussion on Sky Email setup and settings within the Sky Email and Portal Log-in forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; I've followed Ratti's IE setup procedure (religously) several times, I have NO firewall/anti-spam s/w installed and yet I still can't ...

      Still NO IE connection

I've followed Ratti's IE setup procedure (religously) several times, I have NO firewall/anti-spam s/w installed and yet I still can't get IE 6 to 'collect' to sky.

      My message is:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'home', Server: 'pop.sky.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Just called NTL to canx my account with them and they've offered me 6 months free subscription to stay with them. To be honest, due to poor speed, crap UI on skyemail and now the issues with IE I think I'll canx Sky and stick to NTL - REALLY didn't want to do this but Sky's POOR.

My Outlook express collection of NTL mail is fine (worked fom day one 3 years ago!)

      POP3 Access

When accessing my e-Mails via he internet, I prefer to use mail2web.com to get into my accounts rather than all the different webmail interfaces.
The problem I am having is that I can't get into my Sky account through this.

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, does anyone have an alternative, other than going through the Sky portal that seems to freeze on a regular basis.

      Thanks in advance..

Still can't use Email on Sky!!!

I have outlook 6 and have followed the instructions on here and still no luck getting any emails - I have been told numerous things from Sky as to why I can't - they are upgrading please try again later (been told that about 7 times!!!) and the newest one the server doesn't work with the internet package they are using!!!

Anyway I am just incredibly cross - I paid for the man from Sky to come round thinking he would be able to set it all up give me a run through and leave me satisfied - in reality he knew less than me about computers and we ended up having to wipe my whole computer and start again!!!
