      Sorry - should have replied to youravinalarrrf's advice. Thanks - I didn't have SP3, so I have now installed it. But it makes no difference, as my 8 screenshots testify.

      Hi deepkent,
      I've had a look at your screenshots and I can see what I think are errors in your settings. Please note however that I am not at all familiar with Outlook.

      In screenshot 5, you appear to have the ports mixed up. POP3 incoming should be 995 and SMTP outgoing should be 465,


      In screenshot 7, In Enter Network Password, do you have a space in front of 'pop.tools.sky.com'? If so, then i suggest you remove it.

      Agree with dflour69 Screenshot 5 is where your problem is.

      You should also note that when you test settings the email will never come through to Outlook but will be on the Sky portal (Google will not allow you email yourself for some reason). Just go Mail Settings on the Sky portal and re-enable POP and click Save Changes. Go back to Outlook and do a send receive to force it to download the test messages to Outlook.

      Now either get someone to send you an email or send yourself one from another non Sky email address and all should be working.

      Thanks to both of you! Really embarrassing basic oversight. I'm still not there, though. I have now corrected the port settings, and when I click Test Account Settings, everything seems to be going well until it reaches the "send test email message" point. Then I am prompted for my username and password (screeenshot attached). Every time I press OK, the prompt simply keeps returning. (I have double and triple checked username and password). If you can solve this one remaining problem, my troubles might be over. Thanks again - and apologies for the mistake.

      I have the same problem, Sky email works but Outlook Express keeps asking for password and username and rejects them.I have everything configured correctly, looks like another Sky balls up.
      should have stayed with Pipex

      Hi, It's probably worth making sure that Outlook is up to date with the latest service packs or patches - a few users have reported that this problem goes away if they update

      Open Outlook, click on Help, and look for Check for Updates

      I have updated - there is nothing later than SP3, I assume. To save anyone else wasting their time, I thought that I had found the answer HERE:

      Outlook Express keeps prompting for your password

      It makes absolutely no difference.

      Just had another look at your screenshots - there isn't a space before your username on screenshot 2 is there?

      Can you log into Sky email and tools with the same username & password?

      And from there can you get to your inbox etc where the settings are? Try re-enabling POP again and save the changes. Then try Outlook again.

      If that doesn't work you can maybe try https://www.google.com/a/sky.com/UnlockCaptcha again.

      I think I have found one problem. Enabling POP in Sky/Google email, doesn't stick. I have now enabled it six times (and saved the changes!), and every time I re-check, the tick has disappeared from the Enable POP box (whichever one I select). Other choices - Disable Forwarding, Delete messages from Sky's server, etc - are still selected, but not Enable POP.

      Anybody else encountered this bug? Or has everybody assumed, like me, that once you enabled POP it would stay enabled? If anyone knows the answer, I'd be grateful.
