      Re: POP/SMTP E-Mail Instructions

That link does not state what the pop or smtp servers are, do you know their address?

Thanks, did not read the thread to the end!, Would be better if new replies were at the start rather than the end for people like me!

Will try out e-mail with outlook

      Re: Sky Email SMTP

      Folks,

am new on here, just been trying to set up Sky BB e-mail for my parents, thought I'd post this in case it helps anyone, apologies if duplicated elsewhere.

First off, skybroadband.com totally refused log-in with supplied username and password.

Based on a tip-off from this site, supplied username and password did get me in to sky.com. Changed the password there, then lo-and-behold, the new password worked immediately at skybroadband.com (a very primitive e-mail portal indeed, it's laughable, but it least we got in).

As for Outlook, receiving was ok via POP3 but I found that smtp.sky.com did not work for outgoing mail, whereas mail.sky.com worked fine for the outgoing server.

The bottom line is I cannot believe how awful this all is. Will definitely be sticking with BT for my own broadband.

      Adam.

My SMTP with sky was working so well for the last few days, now it's totally dead, also POP isn't working, anyone know what's up?

      Re: Sky Email SMTP

      Hi,

Probably done to death already but I have just migrated from BT and am disappointed with pop3 email.

I have configured with pop.sky.com (incoming) and have tried smtp.sky.com and mail.sky.com (outgoing ) with no success. I can receive but not send. The portal is like something from Compuserve 15 years ago!

Has anyone any info on this or have an outlook/outlook express/windows Mail (vista) setup working please.

Tech support will not even give settings and tell me to speak to Microsoft, as if the settings are a Microsoft issue.

      Thanks in advance,

      Robert

      Re: Sky Email SMTP

The pop and smtp settings are correct and when working it was so fast to send and receive emails from Thunderbird

but today nothing is working - reliability with sky was always my worst worry.
