Sky Yahoo email with Outlook 2010

I've been quite happily using sky email, even when it went over to Yahoo, for years but recently I changed my sky yahoo password which was confirmed by being able access the https://mail.yahoo.com web page and getting and sending email fine, but not within Outlook 2010. I know how to change the outlook account settings and hence my new password, but no matter what I do I cannot get it to work anymore, help please!

Please note that it was working and all I've done was to change my sky email password.

You probably need to use a 16 digit password with Outlook.

Don’t close the generator tab until you have applied the “password” to Outlook.

The generated password is only for the app, not for the account itself.

Be aware that Sky say they will stop supporting the use of older apps. See here:

I suspect that as long as you use the generated password it will continue to work.

That worked Moleman well at least for the incoming mail, now just gotta get the send part working.

I'm using the following and have tried both 465 & 587 for the outgoing port:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

• Server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
• Port - 993
• Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

• Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
• Port - 465 or 587
• Requires SSL - Yes
• Requires authentication - Yes

Your login info

• Email address - Your full email address (name@domain.com)
• Password - Your account's password
• Requires authentication - Yes

Outgoing is set to use the same as incoming

Resolved the sending issue by just changing the security on the outgoing from SSL to auto....
Oh called Sky support (eventually got thru to India, where else of course), terrible to say the least, telling me I need to upgrade my email with Microsoft.

Glad you got it working.
Lets hope they are wrong about older apps not longer being supported.
