Sky.com email
I have just received an email telling me I need to reset my email account password.
I assume that since it is addressed and sent to a none sky email account, addresses me as customer and provides a link to click on to change it (that is somewhat iffy), it is spam and a hacking attempt.
I will not use the link, and will hang onto the contents should anyone at SKY wish to see it.
A notification of a reply to this post sent to my email account would be much appreciated since I do not actually come here often.

Re: Sky.com email
Ignore the above.
It does indeed seem as though SKY have just gone ahead and reset their passwords without notifying first.
I went through the "normal" password reset procedure though, since I do not trust unsolicited links.

Re: Sky.com email
Exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday. I couldn't log in to my Sky email account without changing the password - I couldn't log in to the Sky account either, so had to change it. I'm relieved (in a way) that others' passwords were also changed by Sky without notice; now I won't take it personally. I wonder if there was a hack attact (successful or otherwise).

Re: Sky.com email
Unfortunately SKY is not one of those companies that care about their users. As long as they are getting your money they are reasonably happy.
I was hoping that one of the members of this forum who have a little more access to their policies might throw some light on what happened.

Re: Sky.com email
My account was not locked.
Their customer support need to be a LOT more specific about why they are telling people to change passwords.
There was no indication whatsoever in the email that accounts had been hacked. Also I could not receive the email until I had changed the password.

Re: Sky.com email
It is useful to have another email address and use it as the recovery address for Sky. There are plenty of free email providers.

Re: Sky.com email
I got this today to my registered email address (not sky.com). I logged in using my sky.com email address and reset the password. I agree though that more information would have helped, like my name instead of 'Dear Customer' and a simpler sky.com link without the id code.

Re: Sky.com email
Same here. As I don't use Sky mail and never would I don't care. I don't even think I have ever set Sky mail up. So any passwords etc are down to Sky. They can sort it and the fact that it doesn't contain my name or any thing does suggest it is a scam so it should be ignored.
