Email problem
Hi all,
I am having issues with the download of some emails, I use IMAP on an iMac. Some emails arrive in my mail inbox and the email says this message has no content?
However when I log into my Sky email account there is the full and complete email including contents????
Most of my emails are arriving normally, just the odd one doing the above.
I have no idea why this is happening, so I'm looking for suggestions here.

Are the emails 'good' or are they spam? If they are the later have a look here=

One suggestion I have heard is to click the Reply button and see if the body of the email fills.
I have also read that it may be an over zealous AV program which is emptying the body of the Email. As you are using a Mac I doubt is this is the problem.

The emails are good, from a source where I am registered to receive emails from. They pop straight into my inbox. I do not use Outlook, I use the Apple mail app that comes with my iMac.
I tried rebuilding my in box and that changed nothing, however I left the mail app open for around 2 hours and just prior to typing this I can see I now have the body of the email..........
I will just have to monitor the situation and see what happens in future. I do not usually leave my mail app open and it's not something I want to do.
Anyway thanks for your reply.......only time will tell wether this will happen again?

Hello I'm back to report I am still having this problem with the download of emails. Again with "This message has no content" both emails come from senders who I communicate with, one has a body containing just text.
Checking the emails by signing into Sky shows Bothe messages contain content.
Can anyone give me a steer on this, as it is starring to become tedious....................

Have you tried using POP3 to check whether that is also effected or is it just IMAP?

No I haven't tried that, however after further research I have found that by rebuilding the mail boxes I then get the body of the emails that seemingly have no content. For the moment I'll see how thing go by doing the rebuild, as I do not keep zillions of emails a rebuild for me is fairly quick, around 15 minutes. So I'll see how things progress. None of this explains why it's happening though!
