    can't get email on iphone

      can't get email on iphone

      i can't set up an email on my iphone 7+,it keeps on saying username or password not correct,i know it is correct!i do use a sky.com email and also have a yahoo one,if i try to get on it on my browser i have to sign in with yahoo first then it shows my sky emails,but can only do this on my imac,if i try on my ipad or phone,user name or password not recognized,i had the same trouble on my android phone,but knew i was changing it so didn't bother with it,that just stopping working about 6 months ago,just wouldn't recognize my username or password.

      For the last couple of weeks I have been having email problems using my @sky.com email address.
      I have always used Outlook on my PC and hardly ever had errors until recently, now I am getting sporadic log on errors.
      Sorry I can't help your problem although they both are password/user related.
      I hope someone can shed some light on it

      Are you sure you are entering the password in the correct case? I remember some time ago this was raised as a problem and it was found the letter case was not being entered properly.

      You seem to only get this issue if you set-up your Sky Email using the 'Yahoo' option when setting up a new account. It will then ask you every few weeks to re-enter your Sky password via this method.

      If you create the account by manually entering all the settings, this doesn't seem to happen.

      Have you logged-in in the last 6 months?
      The account may have been deleted due to inactivity?

      Yahoo have updated their security recently so the protocols are stricter, could it be this?

      hi,thank you for your replies,yes i am entering the right password,i can log into my sky.com account on my desktop only,using the same password,so it's not been deleted due to inactivity,

      got it sorted now on my iphone but not on my ipad! typed in an old password and it worked! now use a differant password on my computer than my iphone!

      Not sure if this is related but Yahoo have also admitted there are currently issues with their Yahoo Mail on devices running iOS 10.

      Google is full of posts about people having issues with various aspects of Yahoo Mail using iOS 10.

      Yesterday's developer/beta release of iOS 10.3.2 does apparently now fix the issues. The general release of iOS 10.3.2 is probably just a few weeks away now.
