Sky Ymail updates 31 March - phasing out support for thir dparty e-mails
When I visit my Sky webmail I keep getting pop-ups teklling me that Sky Ynail is endoign support for third party e-mail accounts from 31 March.
However Sky technical support has given me conflicting advice.
One adviser said that I would need to update settings in my e-mail clewint (Windows Live Mail) from POP3 to IMAP.
I have rung a couple fmore times to check and have been assurted on both occasions that I needed to change nothing.
Does anyone know the actual situation here?
Do I need to do anything to continue to receive e-mail from accounts that piggy back off my Sky connection?

Re: Sky Ymail updates 31 March - phasing out support for thir dparty e-mails
Basically a feature that allows for your Sky email account to capture any emails going to your other email accounts is being closed.
For example you could use your sky email account to pick up new emails to a hotmail account.
This service is being closed.
So what can you do now?
Basically set up your email client to look at each email account you have. Windows Live Mail (WLM) can be set up to access most accounts. Sadly Hotmail, Live mail & Outlook are not available unless you updated your WLM to handle them. I did but after rebuilding my laptop I can't any more.
If you have a Hotmail, Live mail or Outlook account the you'll need to use the 'Mail' client which comes with Windows 10 or another email client.
WLM does still support gmail, Yahoo and many other providers.

I have set my Hotmail account to forward all mail to my Sky email account. I assume this won't be effected?

Re: Sky Ymail updates 31 March - phasing out support for thir dparty e-mails
No the sky.com email accounts will still be there.
What is happening is that the facility to use pop or gmail to access another email account and import any new emails to a sky.com email address is stopping.
This means that until now many people have just accessed the one email account to read all their emails. This service is ending.

Re: Sky Ymail updates 31 March - phasing out support for thir dparty e-mails
For some months now I have been getting messages that the Sky account is unable to access my Gmail and Hotmail accounts. Gmail and Hotmail both claim that the Sky account is insecure so will not forward to it. I am even getting warnings from Gmail that someone is attempting to access my account, when this is actually Sky trying to download my email. Maybe this is why Sky are stopping the service. I must get round to changing the Sky account to stop this happening.
