Migrate IMAP folders to new account
Looking for some help and advice.
I use my Sky ( Yahoo email ) across various devices including a desktop where I use WLM. All devices use IMAP so they are all synced. However, I want to set up a Gmail account so that I can integrate all my google things, but although my @sky.com email can be used to logon to Google, it cannot be used for a Gmail account. I have had to set up a new Google account to get Gmail. Question I have is, is there a way to migrate all my existing Sky IMAP folders and their contents over to Gmail ? I will also be upgrading to Win 10, so will probably take this opportunity to dispense with WLM and just us the GMail web platform on my desktop PC.
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Migrate IMAP folders to new account
Seen this asked many times over the years and its always been suggested adding both your accounts to a client like thunderbird as imap accounts and then just copy their folders over.
Depending on how much, it may take sometime, but it will preserve all the time/date within gmail. Gmail is good at preserving that.

Re: Migrate IMAP folders to new account
Thanks for that. Tried the "Thunderbird" process using WLM on my desktop and it worked as well. Much easier than I thought. Thanks again.

Re: Migrate IMAP folders to new account
I think you have solved your problem but if it helps I use Mailstore Home for archiving and moving emails between accounts.
It is free for home use
You can download a backup copy of emails to your local storage and then restore them to another account if you wish
