    Email working through sky.com but not on devices

      Email working through sky.com but not on devices

      Hi,
      Just encountered a very strange problem.

      My email was working fine until yesterday, then it stopped working.

      When trying to send a message I get this
      The connection to the server has failed.

      Subject 'test'
      Server: 'smtp.tools.sky.com'
      Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
      Protocol: SMTP
      Port: 465
      Secure(SSL): Yes
      Socket Error: 10060

      When trying to get my emails I get this
      Unable to send or receive messages for the Sky account. The connection to the server has failed.

      Server: 'pop.tools.sky.com'
      Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
      Protocol: POP3
      Port: 995
      Secure(SSL): Yes
      Socket Error: 10060

      I can access my emails fine through sky.com.
      This is also affecting my phone as no email messages are being downloaded through IMAP

      My wife's email is also having this problem, both on her laptop (windows mail) and through her phone.
      No settings have been changed for either of us.

      I have phoned sky support and I went through the trouble shooting, bit no luck.

      Has anyone else had this problem?

      sounds like the issue many have had using windows live mail. go to you sky.com web mail and clear out completely your spam folder. you should then be able to send and receive emails thru windows live mail again (until the next lot of spam emails corrupt the system again!!).

      I am having the same problem and getting the same message. I can only access my emails through sky.com. I have nothing in my spam folder.

      I would try resetting the password on sky.com to see if that helps.

      Last night it started working again without my changing anything. Obviously gremlins somewhere in the system
