      can anyone help i can't get into my e-mails at all as in come up with a Error initialising email portlet i don't have a clue what this mean . i did try and see if i could get my e-mails through outlook express but no joy

      My second fix thanks to this site. My thanks to Madman. I can log in without difficulty now. Again I ak why Sky make life so complicated for us all.

      ive totally give up with trying to get in im using hot mail instead ive had nothing but trouble with sky when the time is up i'll be going back to my old server i never had any trouble with them,with sky i cant even get on most times

      I'm having the same problems, cannot acess the mail portal I've created new users changed passwords but sill no luck. My ntl gets turned off in a couple of weeks and i really don't want to be left with on email at all.

      It seems from this forum that the service is very hit and miss, not what I expect from a broadband provider, I'm starting to think about keeping my NTL BB until sky can sort thier act out.

      any suggestions on how to fix this problem (email portal) are welcome but I have read through the forum

      It is very important to set up your profile on sky.com first and fill in all the requested box's. If you cant log into sky.com with the supplied password, try registering as a new user on sky.com using your viewing card number. Once you are in to Sky.com you should be able to then log into skybroadband. If you still cant get in try creating an additional user on sky.com and see if that email works.

      POP access from oulook works fine, I appear to log into sky BB its just the portal email initialization failure that is the problem. It's preventing all web mail access on all the accounts that I've created.

      I phoned sky in relation to not being able to login,
      I was told "since your connection is not active yet you won't be able to login"
      I just tried the suggestion in the first post of this thread..oh look at that I can now login to the portal!

      Here's my two penneth re E-mail portal failures.
      I had the same error messages when logging in to the sky portal. Then
      following tips on this superb site I edited my sky.com profile and typed in the
      last 4 digits of my sky viewing card number into the "Parental control number" box. 2 hours later it worked. . Now all I need is my router , first one didn't show (Parceline) , reordered and told that parceline are cr*p, new one will be with Parcelforce , scheduled for delivery on friday
