Re: Possible Solution to portal log in failures

I hadn't been able to login to the BB Portal since November but I could login at sky.com. I found if I set up an additional user at sky.com I could login to the BB Portal using the additional user login details so....

      ....what I did yesterday was
      > go to Sky.com - Home
      > click 'My Sky' tab
      > click 'My Sky Profile'
      > login in using username & password supplied by Sky
      > this directs you to a change password page
      > ***CHANGE THE PASSWORD*** (alpha numeric only)
      > edit 'My Sky Profile' FILL IN ALL BOXES
      > you can add new users by clicking 'View My Additional Users' ---> 'Set Up An Additional User'
      > Logout

      > go to Sky Broadband Site Sky Broadband - Home
      > Login using new Password

Once youv'e managed to login you'll wonder why you bothered

      > if this doesn't work try logging in as one of the Additional Users.

      Good Luck

Re: Possible Solution to portal log in failures

My BB is coming on Tuesday of next week. Is it true that you are unable to login before you are actually connected?? Thats whats seems to be happening to me? I can login to the normal Sky page but when I try and login in to the Portal I get the following message,

'You do not have the required permissions to access this service'

That kind of tells me that it wont let me access it until I'm online with Sky - is that correct?

I've followed all the excellent comments on this thread so hopefully I've done everything I can to make it work?

      Cheers....

If you are lucky you will I still get that message 3 months later and Sky dont seem to have a clue how to fix it, seems a bit hit and miss!

Re: Possible Solution to portal log in failures

if your failing to login to you web based emails, phone sky, tell the agent you would like him/her to pass our email details to the email team, their job is to make sure it works, I hear they have 30 agents all for the email team to test/fix accounts

Re: Possible Solution to portal log in failures

I've got my email working through Thunderbird, though i'm still bemused by the fact i've never been able to log onto the sky broadband portal.
      All i ever get is:
You do not have the required permissions to access this service....

If it means phoning sky up to get this fixed then no thanks. I had enough of Sky last year when i had to fight tooth and nail to get them to send me the router. I've tried most of the fixes in this thread, though i'm glad they seem to have worked for other people. I guess it's wishful thinking that google will redesign the sky broadband portal site and make it work....

Re: Possible Solution to portal log in failures

I have 3 emails addresses set up now, and I can acess the portal for my main one and the last one I set up but not the senond one for some reason as I keep getting the old "You do not have the required permissions to access this service...." message, not that I am bothered anyway as the portal is pretty crap anyway.
