      Strange!

The incredible thing is that when using Outlook Express & Mozila Thunderbird, I can access my Sky email & also send out emails. But when using it on the:

      Sky.com - Home
      and the:
      Sky Broadband - Home

It does not recognise the User Name or Password.

Is there anyone who can only access their Sky email on Outlook Express & not able to on the Web portal log in?

Everything except the portal was working fine for me......just could not log in.

However I read earlier on here that if I changed my existing Sky.com password to match the Sky BB one it would work.

I tried that and no joy, but a couple of days later it logged on successfully.

Seems to me like it takes a day or 2 for the backend databases to synchronise and once they do everything works okay.

The problem seems to be with people who have already signed up online to Sky.com then getting BB. The new password issued for BB seems to muck up sky.com and BB linking properly. Once you change your existing Sky password it seems to sort the block.

Hope this helps some people get into the portal.

      Cheers
      John

I've tried all of the above but still can access either the portal or email. I've tried email CS today as before xmas they told me the email server was down. Do they respond to emails?

Re: Possible Solution to portal log in failures

I've tried all suggestions here with no luck. I normally use Firefox and get the message,

      The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

I don't have cookies disabled or set to refuse. I have the IEView extension installed on Firefox and have tried switching to that rendering engine, and tried IE itself, and I get more or less the full progress bar but then it just sits there.

      Anyone with any more ideas?

      @jimmy4eyes
I haven't read all this thread so please excuse if already stated. I have recently been getting the exact message you mention after having been able to login since I joined Sky in October. I went to MySky at sky.com and filled in all the missing essentials in my profile, including the password and found I could immediately log in to the Broadband portal. Hope it helps.
