Can't send email from my Imac
So I moved to Sky from Eircom recently. (I'm an Irish customer)
I have a mac book and use the default Apple email program for my emails.
My email address is still @eircom.net.
I receive emails fine.
I can't send emails.
I realise that something needs to be done with the SMTP server information, but what?
I can't find any help on sky website. The dont mention POP mail from what I can see and just go on about sky/yahoo emails. I want to keep my own email.
any help would be greatly appreciated
I have left every setting as they are, and tried smtp.tools.sky.com as the outgoing server but that still does not work

Re: Can't send email from my Imac
Firstly you will need to register and verify your 3rd party address with the sky/yahoo server.
Send an email from another account | Sky Help
Then when you configure the account make sure you are authenticating to the SMTP server (smtp.tools.sky.com) with your full sky email address and password. Use port 465 and SSL set.

Re: Can't send email from my Imac
For your initial settings you need to check that Eircom allow you to keep email from another isp's connection. Lots of providers do but also quite a few don't.
The Sky Yahoo! settings are if you are going to move to an @sky.com email address but I'm sure lots of people on here will advise you to move to a 3rd party service so you don't have problems if you move isp in future.
Lots of people have their own domains for email nowadays so this is an isp independent option which is future-proof.
