Took less than a minute to answer.

      Option 1 - Broadband
      Option 4 - Technical Support

Actually spoke to someone in this country.

Another 3 days to wait now for an ammended password.

Let's see what happens. I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to.

One point of interest: After being told myUser name was in CAPS, the lady assured me it should be entered in lower case.

ONLY THE PASSWORD IS IN CAPS - so if you are struggling yourselves - try it!

      Still laughing
the font problem is permanent lol. Always enter usernames in lowercase, passwords case sensitive. also try logging into sky.com first with the credentials supplied by skybb. If this works fill your profile. Everything except for your password in the profile should be entered in lowercase. It's down to bad site design.
It doesn't get better than this band lol

      Hi,

I'm having the same problems logging in to both portal & e mail maybe my O's & 0's are mixed & I'm thick.

I was told by a kind sounding sky operator last night that the user name should be in upper case. However she was arranging for a new password to be sent. Incidentaly I'm using Windows Mail from the Vista package not Outlook.

      regards to all

Re: Sky Email - Rejecting username and password

I had Sky Broadband Max installed two weeks ago. I experienced a lot of problems connecting to the Internet. To cut a long story short, it cost me 43 in total for a wireless connection which did not work followed by an Ethernet socket and instillation fee.

I am still unable to connect to Outlook Express as it keeps on rejecting my username and password. I have followed all of the advice in this thread (eg substituting the number 0 for the letter O and lower case l for upper case I) but to no avail. I have spent hours phoning the help desk and got nowhere. I have been told lies about being provided with a new password which works. I am very disillusioned, not least by the attitude and lack of knowledge of the help desk, and am thretening to refer the matter to the Office of Fair Trading as Sky insist I still have to pay the 10 a month fee. I am regretting changing to Sky Broadband and would not have if I was aware of this site.

Does anyone have any advice as I think I have explored every option and don't wish to waste any more time phoning the "help desk".

I can't help you with setting your Sky email up but I would say use Gmail or Hotmail for your mail instead as you will find they are more reliable.

Re: Sky Email - Rejecting username and password

I am using my old Freeserve address via the Internet. The service, via Outlook Express, went down hill following the take overs by Wanadoo and especially Orange. With Orange I was unable to send e-mails via Outlook Express although I could receive them. I changed to Sky because it seemed a good product at a low price. Little did I know about what was in store.

What really annoys me is the help desk and all their lies about providing a new pass word which will work. I think the problem is that the Sky network cannot cope with the amount of take up. Why can't they just admit it instead of fobbing people off. I think I will be taking the matter to the Office of Fair Trading.

Re: Sky Email - Rejecting username and password

After much trial and error I have managed to set up Outlook Express to send and receive e-mails via Sky. What looked like a lower case l on the password they provided was an upper case I. I have made no progress in trying to get the Sky web page to accept the username and password which has worked with Outlook Express. I need to be able to access e-mails when I am away from home, but this is not possible.

Re: Sky Email - Rejecting username and password

Another point in collecting Sky email. It you are using Outlook 2007 then you must select POP with an unencrypted connection Outlook 2007 will try to set up an encrypted [/B]connection which will time out so you can never collect your mail
