Unable to send or receive emails since password change
I have been having problems since the switch to Yahoo, I have been getting a lot of junk mail, and receiving emails not addressed to me some of which I consider a security risk. I got one yesterday which was someone else's paypal transaction. I rang sky and told them about it, and said I was concerned about the security with yahoo. The person took some details and said she would pass it on to the departments concerned. They told me to change my sky email account passwords, and she guided me through it. This went OK and if I go onto sky web site and log in to my emails using new passwords no trouble. But if I use my email clients I am unable to send or receive emails, this as only happened since changing passwords. Yes I have changed the passwords in my accounts in the clients, and rechecked them again. I also have the same problem on my Android pad. Have sent sky an email but as yet no answer. Has anybody any ideas.

I sent them an email yesterday afternoon when I realised there was a problem using the client, Have just looked on web to access and this is there reply. What a waste of time, this is a standard issue message.

No problem.
The on-line teams have been inundated with messages about issues over the email move. You should get a response in due course though so all I can say for now is to wait for a follow up message from Sky.

Some other users have said it sometimes takes awhile for the new password to be recognised by yahoo (but I must say its always worked instantly for me.) If you login to webmail and go to account details via your username there is a "change your password" link there. It takes you back to SKY but perhaps if you go via that route the 2 passwords will keep in sync.

Hi
When you are logged in to your sky yahoo mail click on your name at the top right and select account info. You will then be asked for your password again so enter this and then select login which will take you to a personal info screen. Just close this and then try your email client again.
If it does not work after doing this try deleting the sky account in your email client and then re-adding it again.

Thanks Hedgehog done that and can now send & receive emails, I will have to wait to see if I get any response from sky about security issues
