Emails being moved from Inbox to Trash.

For anyone suffering from this problem if may be because fetch rules set up when you were on the gmail platform are still operating even though the accounts are not active.

To prove if this is the case change your password and the rogue access will be unable to succeed.

This will also be effective if some other long forgotten app or rule is still active and causing the problem.

Also some people are surprised to find their mails being move to trash after collecting their mails via a pop client (Outlook, Thunderbird etc.). This is standard for a POP server and gmail is the exception in this case. To make the new service perform more like the old one you need to enable "leave a copy of messages on the server" in your client. Exact wording will differ between clients.

It is also the reason users are being induated with old emails. If you did not delete them from the web page, they are still there and as far as Yahoo is concerned you have not yet received them.

Re: Emails being moved from Inbox to Trash.

Although outlook is stating that the password is wrong could it be the username? Webmail requires username and password but sky's (Yahoo's) pop server requires username@sky.com and password. I have just tried logging into the pop server manually with openssl and conversation went similar to this:
      openssl s_client -connect pop.tools.sky.com:995
      ---
      (removed)
      ---
      +OK hello from popgate-0.8.0.357900 pop108.plus.mail.bf1.yahoo.com
      user username@sky.com
      +OK password required.
      pass password
      +OK maildrop ready, 6 messages (84188 octets) (86630)

      Posted in other thread too

"Hey guys, looks like there was a delay somewhere in changing the passwords on the yahoo servers. Was working on my phone first within 24 hours of changing password on webmail then got around to checking Outlook and all is fine now "
