      Try logging on to your Sky email account at: Email Hosting Services | Pick Up Your Email | mail2web.com

      You will find a link once the list of mail has been downloaded, "Delete all emails in this folder".

      If you are paranoid about inputting your Sky password into a third party site you can always change it before logging in and after logging out.

      I was one of the first people to have their inbox switched over the other day and when I called Sky to tell them that my inbox was attempting to download 25000 emails they had no idea this was going to be an issue or what to do about it. After half an hour on the phone with the (very lovely) tech support guys being unable to help and me being the one to tell him that Yahoo doesn't have very many options in it's setting and none that would stop this. I worked out myself that moving all my emails from my inbox to a new folder stopped the problem. Took half an hour but at least my email inbox isn't freaking out anymore

      Oh I was also told that Yahoo doesn't really support IMAP even though they have a guide for setting it up

      I moved all my emails to a new folder and then deleted them ALL from the inbox (as recommended somewhere on here). Took an hour. They are STILL downloading into Windows Mail. Again. And AGAIN. And AGAIN.

      Try creating a rule to delete all emails over x number of days old. Run the rule manually then set to run on opening the client.

      Do you mean a folder on your PC? You are supposed to do it on the server whilst logged in to webmail.
